| Passion and integrity...two words that Amounting to Nothing is set out to define in the music world. Starting out as a worship band at Broken Arrow Bible Ranch, the band started meddling with original music. The idea of leading a group in worship put Amounting to Nothing in a humble position, the stage is where they met God. With the thought of the stage and music as something sacred and powerful, Amounting to Nothing started working on putting melody behind the songs that Casey had written. Songs about failed relationships, frail personalities and compromised promises. To the surprise of the band, many responded to these songs with open arms. It helped to say what many held in...it spoke truth. Amounting to Nothing is Casey (guitar/vocal) , Dar (drums), and Norvin (bass). ATN capatilizes on their steady diet of melodic music such as the Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival, MxPx, Five Iron Frenzy, Less Than Jake, Collective Soul, Taking Back Sunday and Greeley Estates to write soul-searching lyrics set to a catchy harmony. While the band enjoys the loud noise and the energy create by an of the electric set, they are also very fond of the acoustic guitar. Bringing the songs back to its original state has given the band many good reviews. Their acoustic set tends to bring more passion and emotion to each song. Versitility is a gift. The band does not live perfect lives but they do strive to be honest before God. While remaining grounded and keeping their focus on their fans, Amounting to Nothing is poised to make a noise to be heard across the reservation and beyond. |
